Theodor Hertzl's second funeral, Aug 17th, 1949 (part two)
The National Institutions building in
Jerusalem 1949
On the second dat of its funeral procession coffin on Benjamin Theodore Herzl left Tel Aviv and was placed at the "National Institutions building" in Jerusalem for one day.
Crowds came to pay their last respect to the founder of the state of Israel, before it was taken to it's final resting place at Mount Hertz in Jerusalem.

Here the coffin of Herzl is brought in to the inner yard of the
"National Institutions building"
The procession was led by the first Chief of staff of the IDF , Yaakov Dori
Six soldiers stood in rotating shifts along the coffin as crowds walked bye.
This is the cloth that was draped over the coffin and disappears for over 70 years until it was discovered by accident a few years ago
