New York, 1903. 229 Fifth Avenue

This block was destined for demolition.

                                             

   This was my third colorization project for Shorpy.com and took quite an extensive research.
The snow was a last minute decision when I noticed some white spots on the roof of one of the buildings.

Here is the same spot from a different angle in 1903.
I can not decide if this was photographed before or after my colorized photo.


Today the Grand Madison hotel stand on this site.


And this is the block next door (on Broadway and 26th) that stayed the same
as it was back in 1903.
